ES400 AIR Frequently Asked Questions
1. Which CPAP machines does the ES400 AIR work with?
Four DC cables in the box cover the ResMed S9, AirSense 10 and 11, AirCurve 10 and 11, AirMini, and Philips DreamStation 1 and 2. The Luna G3, Transcend Micro and Prisma need the ESG3, ESMC or ESPR cable, sold separately. Not sure about your machine? Email support@easylonger.com before you order.
2. How long does it run a CPAP?
About 1–2 nights at 8.4W (an AirSense 10 at 6 cmH2O with the humidifier and heated tube off, 8 hours a night). Higher pressure means fewer nights. The humidifier and heated tube use the most power. With both on at high pressure, expect only a few hours. The runtime calculator can estimate your settings.
3. Can I take it on a plane?
It's 148Wh, so you need your airline's approval, and it must stay in your carry-on. Ask when you book.
4. Can it power two CPAP machines at once?
Yes. Run one from the DC port and one from the 12V car socket on the battery. Two machines drain the battery much faster, so expect a shorter runtime.
5. How do I recharge it?
Wall outlet: the AC adapter in the box, about 4–5 hours. In the car: about 3–4 hours with a 12V car-socket-to-DC cable (5.5 × 2.1 mm plug), sold separately. Solar: about 3–4 hours with an 80W panel in good sun. The ESP110 110W panel works too. The DC input takes 12–24V, up to 72W, with a 5.5 × 2.1 mm plug, and MPPT is built in.
6. How do I connect it to my CPAP?
First find your CPAP's voltage on the label of its power adapter. ResMed machines use 24V and Philips machines use 12V. Press and hold the voltage button for about 3 seconds, until the screen flashes 12V. Press again to step through 16.5V, 20V and 24V. Stop on your machine's voltage, and it locks in after about 3 seconds. Then plug in the DC cable for your machine. Earlier units label the 16.5V and 20V settings 16V and 19V. The settings are the same.
7. My machine is 19V. Which setting do I use?
Use 20V (labeled 19V on earlier units).
8. Will it work with a ResMed AirSense 10?
Yes. Set the battery to 24V and use the cable marked "For AirSense 10" from the box.
9. Can I use it while it's charging?
Yes. Plug the AC adapter into the battery's DC input and run your CPAP from the 12V car socket on the battery. That takes a car-socket cable with the right voltage for your machine, such as the EAS10 or EAS11 for ResMed machines, sold separately. Not sure which cable you need? Email support@easylonger.com.
10. How do I turn it off?
Press and hold the voltage button for about 3 seconds to leave the fixed-voltage mode. With nothing connected, the battery shuts off by itself after a few seconds.
11. What warranty do I get?
Five years on batteries ordered from easylonger.com. Bought from another seller? You get three years, and registering with us extends it to five.
