EASYLONGER ES720 PRO CPAP Battery Backup — 276.48Wh LiFePO4

I've had the Renogy 266Wh version of this power bank for about 5 years and it's been incredibly useful for amateur radio operations, boiling water during fire bans (with a "car kettle"), and charging laptops, phones, and other devices. The variable power supply was a great feature and the cigarette lighter socket was perfect for running compressor-driven camp coolers, air compressors (for my inflatable dinghy), and other odds and ends.

The MPPT controller was excellent and I routinely recharged it with a 100W panel in about 3-4 hours of good sunlight.

I just received this Easylonger upgraded version, and I'm ecstatic to discover it solved all of the (minor) issues I had with the previous one. First and foremost, it now uses a 4S (4 serial) cell configuration, meaning the cigarette lighter port hovers around 15-16V. While this could (in theory) be a little spicy for some devices, the biggest issue I had on the old model was low-voltage cutoff on 12V devices. For example, I could only ever start my diesel heater when the pack was 100% full. My car kettle would slip into "low power" mode around that point, too. I'm confident that everything I have will now run continuously until the BMS shuts the port off. I just boiled 400mL of water from 54% to 40% in record time (well under 20 minutes). Was able to power my 20W HF radio and 50W VHF radio without issue.

If a device you have hits a high-voltage cutoff or can't handle 16V, you've always got the 12V regulated output (though you might need a 5521->CLA socket adapter, and you're limited to 6.7A in that mode).

Another fantastic upgrade is the 100W PD in/out. It's actually a game changer; the previous model pulled about 52W @ 20V; this one pulls about 89W @ 20V, so it charges 70% faster (a little over 3 hours instead of over 5 hours).

The digital state of charge readout is also so much nicer and more precise than the 4 bars. And, though it's not mentioned on the product page for some reason, I can confirm that it does still have the light onboard, and it's excellent.

Five solid stars. This little beast of a power bank is *exactly* what I was hoping for.

I don't use a CPAP myself, but I'm guessing it would work very well in that application.

I recently found myself in a situation where the power went out for 36 hours and this battery was an absolute lifesaver for my electronics. It is marketed for CPAP machines but I use it primarily as a heavy duty backup for my laptop and mobile devices. It feels like a small power station rather than just a simple battery pack and the weight of it gives me confidence that it is packed with high quality cells.

I do find the size to be a bit hefty if you are looking for something to throw in a pocket but for camping or emergency use it is perfect. If you try to carry this in your jeans you might end up with your pants around your ankles because it has some serious heft to it. The various ports on the back allow me to plug in multiple things at once and the rubberized grip on the sides makes it easy to move around without dropping it. I appreciate that it stays cool to the touch even when it is pushing out a lot of power to my larger devices.

The inclusion of a dedicated voltage mode button is a great touch for those who need specific settings for their gear. I found the interface to be very intuitive and I did not have to spend all day reading a manual to figure out how to get my gear charged up. It is rare to find a battery that offers this much versatility while still being simple enough for daily use. This has quickly become a staple in my emergency kit and I am very happy with how it performed when I actually needed it to work during the blackout.

The manual is really good at muddying things up and being confusing, so I thought I could help:

I bought this battery for one reason: CPAP backup power. Not camping. Not tailgating. Not charging a phone in the woods while journaling about my feelings. I wanted something that would quietly sit there and keep my CPAP running if the power goes out at 2:47 a.m.

This thing almost does that. But there are some details you really need to understand before trusting it with your breathing.

The good stuff (credit where it’s due)

The ES720 PRO is well-built, compact for its size, and it supports pass-through charging. Translation: you can leave it plugged into the wall while it powers a device, and when the power goes out, the device usually keeps running without you doing the midnight plug-shuffle.

That part is legit. No complaints there.

Where marketing gets… creative

This is not a real UPS, despite the way it’s often described.

A traditional UPS feeds your device straight from wall power and switches to battery only when needed. This does not do that. Instead, power always flows like this:

Wall → battery → device

Why does that matter? Because it means the battery is always in the loop, even when the power is on.

So if your device pulls more power than the charger can supply — spoiler alert: CPAPs with heaters absolutely do — the battery will slowly drain while everything is still plugged in and working normally.

Yes. You can lose battery charge without losing power.
That’s not a bug. That’s the design.

CPAP users: this is where things get spicy

If you run your CPAP like a normal human:

AC power (using the CPAP’s wall brick)

Heated humidifier ON

Heated hose ON

…this battery is going to tap out faster than you expect.

Those heaters are power hogs, especially in colder rooms. In pass-through mode, the ES720 PRO may not keep up, so the battery percentage drops overnight. Start the night at 75% and you might wake up to 0% — even if the power never went out.

And if the power does go out at 3 a.m.? Congrats, you’ve just discovered why this isn’t a medical-grade UPS.

“But it has AC outlets!”

Yes, and they work.
They’re also the least efficient way to run a CPAP.

The battery converts DC to AC, then your CPAP brick converts it back to DC again. That double conversion wastes power and shortens runtime. It’s fine for small electronics. It’s not great for something that’s literally keeping you alive while you sleep.

What this battery actually wants to be

This unit shines when:

You use DC power

You turn humidifier and hose heat OFF during outages

You think of it as backup power, not life-support infrastructure

You understand its limits instead of trusting the product name

Used that way? Totally fine. Solid, even.

What it is not

This is not:

“Plug it in once and forget it”

“Full comfort CPAP, all night, while charging”

“Hospital-grade peace of mind”

If that’s what you expect, you’re going to be disappointed — and possibly very awake at an inconvenient hour.

Bottom line

The EASYLONGER ES720 PRO is a good battery pack with pass-through charging, but calling it a UPS without explanation is like calling a step stool a ladder. Technically useful, but not for everything you might try to do with it.

Know what it is. Know what it isn’t.
And don’t find out the hard way at 3 a.m

I bought this specifically for a 3-day camping trip to power my AirSense 11, and it exceeded my expectations. I was able to get three full nights of sleep with the humidifier turned off and still had about 20% charge left for my phone. The wireless charging pad on top is a brilliant touch for overnight charging. It's compact, ruggedly built, and the DC output makes it much more efficient than using an inverter. If you need reliable CPAP power off-grid, this is the one.

The easy longer CPAP battery backup power supply is a beast.
This battery pack has a lot of features included with it, that makes it a great value for your money.
This battery pack comes with connectors for different CPAP machines to include the air since 11 and also has many outlets for USB and USB-C plugs and a 12 V car style plug.
This battery pack packs a punch. It has a good amperage and wattage and does last quite a while.
It has passed through capability so you can keep the pack charged but still use your device.

Overall this is a really good value for your money, and if you do have a CPAP machine, it can be a lifesaver when you have no power or traveling since it can be used off grid with a solar panel to charge it or other type a power source to include 12 V car battery. Some adapters do need to be purchased separately however this CPAP backup battery power supply does come with a connectors to get you up and running immediately.
