The DC cables in the box are about 3 ft long. This one reaches 8.5 ft and plugs into a car socket, so the battery can stay on the floor, in the tent vestibule or in the car.

Connected in three steps.

  1. Use the car socket.

    Plugs into the 12V car socket on ES400 AIR, ES720 and ES960 models, or your car. The ES270 has no car socket.

  2. Connect the cable.

    Car-socket end into the socket, CPAP end into your machine's power port.

  3. Turn on your CPAP.

    Check the cable and the voltage against your CPAP's power adapter label.

Works well for the Airsense 10 - the connector is robust.

I was originally concerned with the reliability of the cigarette lighter connector on this. The pin at the tip is somewhat hard to push inwards i.e. the internal spring to too stiff. That means you need those curved connectors on the side of the shell to be very stiff so that the outward force holding the plug against the cylindrical wall of the socket exceeds the force of the pin pushing against the 12V contact. While that force ensures a good connection, it also makes it difficult to pull the connector out of the socket, so it was nice touch to see that some ergonomics was put into the shell to make it easier to pull out.

I've had these connectors with "rigid" tips slowly work their way loose until the 12V contact is barely being made and then any slight movement of the cable breaks the connection. It's a fundamentally flawed connector, it should have been designed with a bayonet locking mechanism to guarantee contact. Anyway, it is what it is. Given my suspicion about the ability to maintain electrical contact during a night of tossing and turning, my wife used this for a week with a Jackery power pack and ended up not experiencing any disconnections. That actually surprised me, but in a good way. The generous cord length also helped with that.

The integrated inverter module produces 24V at 3.75A i.e. 90W - that's exactly the power consumption noted on the Airsense 10 sticker, so there's not a micro amp of excess capacity :-/. The connector shell also contains a 15A fuse in case things go bad. For a product made in China, it was quite refreshing and appreciated to see actual well written and easy to read English instructions.

When I ordered this it was selling for $40 and literally the day after the price dropped to $34. Even with that, it's still more expensive than most of it's competition on Amazon, but it's also still much less expensive than the official ResMed adapter. It's clearly difficult to gauge the quality of what I received against the unknown quality of all that cheaper competition, my suspicion is that they'd all be about the same though. For me, the known benefit of this one is the reliability of the cigarette lighter connector contact. I'm at 4 stars mostly because of the value for money compared with its competition on Amazon. It usually takes a lot to get me to 5 stars.

Perfect DC / Car power adapter for AirSense 10

Ever want to go camping somewhere (car camping) but can't be without your CPAP? Me too. And that's where this little fellow can come in handy.

There are a couple widely popular portable batterie that have outlets, 12V DC ports (car "cigarette lighter" ports) and more. This is mainly useful with the first couple batteries. When you're using a device like your AirSense / AirCurve 10 away from home with a portable battery there's a couple options. One, is to get a battery that has a standard outlet on it, and then plug your CPAP into that. While this works, it is incredibly inefficient. Batteries store power as DC, outlets are AC, so the outlets on these portable batteries have a converter from DC to AC. Then you ResMed power cord convert your new AC back to DC for the device to use. You end up losing about half, if not more, from the voltage conversion.

This adapter however is DC. So you're getting a straight DC line into your CPAP, which depending on your setup, can mean significantly longer battery life.

Or if you're sleeping in your vehicle, you can just plug this into the DC port, and you're good to go.

Either way, for traveling, car camping, this adapter is a winner

Good for travel

So pretty decent for the value even if the plastic on the dc plug feels a bit fragile and not very durable. However it’s a plus to use for if you’re constantly traveling and use a rv or are sleeping in a car where you need to use the dc cord. The best thing for this is to plug into the es400 air battery I have while plugging the battery pack into the wall so that the battery pack is used as a emergency backup if the power goes out when sleeping if you’re in a rv or somewhere that power is unreliable.

Very useful addition to add power option for vehicles for CPAP users

I recently used this power adapter on a cross country road trip and it performed flawlessly with my AirSense 10. I could tell no difference using this 12v adapter versus using the standard wall plug. The cord or adapter box did not get hot or even warm for me in the truck. This is a great option at this economical price point for a very portable power supply for the on the go CPAP person. It is very well made so the cords do not fold up to a very small form factor however it is nice to know that its made tough enough to survive riding in the glove box of your vehicle if needed. I kept the truck running while it was plugged in so that there was no impact to the battery, last thing you want is dead battery in middle of nowhere.

EASYLONGER CPAP Power Cord EAS10 Compatible with AirSense 10 / AirCurve 10 | 90W

I live offgrid in an RV and this adapter allows me to power the CPAP directly off my batteries and shut the inverter down which requires significant power to run. I can now run almost entirely off solar power and havent had to run the generator in almost two weeks, which is a huge savings in diesel fuel these days.

It fit perfectly and works great. I just got to my house in Florida to ensure things go smoothly with this hurricane and I brought this adapter and a 12v lifepo4 battery so I can run my cpap at night during power outages without a generator outside making noise and being a target for theft. I can run during the day to charge and sleep soundly at night with everything locked up secure. This is amazing.

Works Perfectly with My AirSense 10

I bought this to use with my AirSense 10, and it works exactly as I hoped. It supplies constant power to my CPAP and has been reliable so far.

This is especially handy on long road trips when I want to lie back and rest while someone else is driving. In fact, I’m using it right now as I write this review. It’s nice being able to power my CPAP in the vehicle without having to mess with an inverter or other complicated setup.

Simple, convenient, and works well with my AirSense 10. Definitely a useful travel accessory for my CPAP.

A great solution for battery backup CPAP use

This power adapter cord allows you to use a standard 12v "cigarette" plug to power your AirSense 10 CPAP machine. I have a battery backup unit, and it has this 12v port, so this makes it a great way to power my CPAP when AC current isn't available. It also improves the battery usage by avoiding having to convert the backup's DC power to AC for the power brick and then immediately back to DC for the CPAP.

It's a handy, portable cable, and it's a good length, too, at 8 ft. This could be something I'd use when camping, although my primary use is just having it for power outages (I really, really need my CPAP!). Worth the price.

A simple, much less expensive CPAP power option

It does one job, does it well, and costs less than half the price of the comparable official ResMed adapter. ResMed has made these adapters somewhat particular because the CPAP machine needs a special signal in order to run. This cable handles that requirement, so it works properly with the machine instead of becoming an expensive piece of car-camping decoration.

I use it with one of those portable camping batteries, but it would also be useful in a car or camper. To get the longest battery life, I avoid running the heated hose and humidifier. Still, the important thing is that the CPAP works as it should.

This is simply a reliable power cable that saves a lot of money compared with the official version. It works like a normal power cable should, which is all I wanted.
