A useful gift starts with his actual setup
A CPAP battery can be a thoughtful gift for a dad who travels, camps or wants a prepared bedside power reserve. The best choice is not automatically the largest battery or the most expensive model. It is the one he can connect correctly, carry comfortably and recharge where he will use it.
Before buying, ask for a photo of his exact CPAP model label and original power adapter. Find out how long he normally sleeps, whether he uses heated humidification or tubing, and whether his next trip involves flying. A little coordination prevents a well-meant gift from becoming an incompatible box of cables.
Important: this guide concerns CPAP/APAP power planning, not a life-support backup system. Someone who cannot safely tolerate an interruption needs a clinician- and equipment-provider-led plan. A gift should support his existing treatment, not require him to change prescribed pressure or tolerate uncomfortable settings.
01 The frequent flyer
For the dad who flies: start with the airline rules

Two different travel decisions
- ES270
- 99.9Wh
- Start with compact-kit needs.
- ES400 AIR
- 148Wh
- Plan for airline approval.
Neither capacity label establishes his runtime or permission to operate CPAP aboard.
The ES270 has 99.9Wh rated capacity and is the smallest-capacity EASYLONGER family. It is worth considering when a compact kit matters and a home-verified runtime covers his intended interval.
The ES400 AIR offers 148Wh. That is more stored energy, but its airline-approval requirement makes it a different travel decision, not an interchangeable carry-on choice.
Check the operating airline before buying. Spare batteries belong in carry-on baggage with terminals protected; carriers may impose stricter limits. Battery carriage and using CPAP aboard are separate questions. A capacity below 100Wh is not a promise of effortless boarding or unlimited in-flight use. See FAA PackSafe.
A thoughtful addition is a clearly organized document folder: battery label, model manual, carrier correspondence if needed, and the exact cable kept with the machine. Do not promise that a compact battery will cover an entire flight until his setup has been checked.
02 The ground-travel camper
For the camper or road-trip dad: match the nights to recharge access

The ES720 provides 266.4Wh. The ES720 PRO provides 276.48Wh and a percentage display. Both belong in a ground-travel plan: they exceed 160Wh and are not an ordinary passenger carry-on or checked-baggage option under FAA limits.
Ask whether he needs one night between charging stops or several nights with no access to power. The difference is more important than a camouflage finish. Keep the comparison tied to his CPAP settings, the complete kit he will carry and the charging route available at camp.
A solar panel is a useful gift only after compatibility and the intended charging location are checked. The ESP110's 110W rating is not continuous guaranteed output. Cloud, shade and charging limits affect replenishment. Adding a panel does not automatically turn a weekend battery into a week-long system.
03 The home planner
For the dad preparing for outages: prioritize the complete backup plan
ES960 and ES960 PRO297.6Wh each
The choice is about documented controls and connections.
PRO does not mean more stored energy.
ES960 and ES960 PRO both have 297.6Wh rated capacity. PRO adds percentage-display control; it does not add capacity over the standard ES960. Compare the documented controls and charging connections, not an assumption that PRO means more nights.
These are DC/USB power products, not AC power stations with a household socket. His CPAP needs a documented compatible power route. Do not assume he can plug the machine's wall adapter directly into the battery.
Pass-through support can keep a permitted setup connected while charging, but it is not proof of zero-interruption medical UPS behavior. The exact battery, charger, cable and CPAP combination must be checked. If the input supplies less power than the connected devices consume, remaining charge may fall even while the charger is attached.
The most useful part of the gift may be helping him identify a second charging location or reserve battery before a storm. A plan for what happens after the first battery is depleted matters as much as the first night's setup.
If he already owns a battery, buy the missing piece

A duplicate battery is not always the best answer. Check the equipment he has and choose one concrete improvement:
- A replacement or spare cable, only if needed: first check the cable set supplied with his EASYLONGER battery. No additional cable purchase is needed for the listed compatible CPAP models already covered by that set. The selectable DC cable kit is an option for a missing, replacement or spare cable on a documented compatible route. Confirm the exact battery and CPAP models, voltage, polarity, connector and source capability before ordering.
- A suitable charging source: match the battery's accepted input and required cable. Do not assume any USB charger or vehicle lead is adequate.
- Organization: a protective case that fits the exact unit, separate cable pockets, readable labels and a printed setup record can make the kit easier to use.
- Setup time together: help record a successful configuration rather than leaving troubleshooting until the campsite or outage.
Check current prices, included accessories and return terms on the selected product page. Packaging and a receipt are especially useful when the recipient needs to verify compatibility after receiving the gift.
Make the first use a calm, awake check

- Read the exact battery manual and confirm the machine-specific connection, output voltage, polarity and current requirements.
- Inspect and charge the equipment. Keep it dry, ventilated, on a stable surface and away from bedding that could cover it.
- Run a short test while he is awake, with his normal supply available. If airflow stops, follow the CPAP manual and do not remain wearing a non-running mask.
- After a successful short check and an appropriate fallback plan, verify a longer interval using his normal settings. Record hours and remaining charge.
- Use the runtime calculator as an estimate, not a replacement for this check. Reserve energy for CPAP before charging phones or other devices.
Finish with clear ownership records
Official-site purchases include a five-year warranty. Other authorized-platform purchases include three years; register eligible purchases to extend coverage to five years. Keep the receipt, exact model and product-label photo, and let your dad choose the email used for his ownership record.
For a birthday, Father's Day or an ordinary thank-you, the strongest gift is a complete, understandable kit. Choose it with him, verify it before it is needed, and leave him with a plan he can repeat confidently.
